Hello world! My name is Jason and I’m a junior at UMBC. I’m a Biochem. and Psychology double major on the Pre-Med track. I know it sounds like a mouthful, and trust me, it is! But I do have plenty of time to do other stuff on campus. I’m a Resident Assistant in one of the residential halls on campus (so I pretty much supervise a floor), I work in Office of Admissions (so I might be getting your applications to UMBC!), I do research through the Chemistry department (at 7am!!! so that’s a tough one to pull off), and I volunteer at the local hospital, St. Agnes (well, hopefully, I have an interview Monday). So stay tuned for future posts about my exciting days as a UMBC student!

Hey Jason, your blog is an excellent source of information and has totally switched my feelings about attending UMBC next year!
However, do you know anything about graduating with honors if one isn’t in the honors program?

You can graduate with honors in every major even if you aren’t part of the honors program. It depends on what major you are looking into as to how you would graduate with honors. Also, just to clarify, if you are in the honors program, you graduate with a certificate of honors, which is actually different than graduating with honors in your major. I know it can be confusing. And to top it all off, we are an honors university, which is completely different.
