So this weekend was probably one of the best weekends I’ve ever had in a long time. It be prefect if I wasn’t sitting here doing homework to make up for the lack of time I spent doing everything else.
To start with, we had Friday, where I helped to carry out Block Party. This is an annual event put on by the Resident Student Association (RSA) that tons of students come out to and have fun at. We had minigolf set up, pie your Resident Assistant, build a sandcastle, make a caramel apple and snowcone, and lots of other fun stuff. Unfortunetely it rained so we had to move it inside, but it was still a huge success, especially for playing minigolf in the Dining Hall! My residents also decided that they wanted to pie me…so I let them. See attached picture…Yeah, I’m a good RA.
Anyway, so Saturday the Chesapeake staff went on a canoeing trip. It was a lot of fun, pattling down the river. It was really calm and serene…until it started pouring! We were so soaked and we even had to bail out our boat because it filled with so much water. There were a few times that people fell in when going to shore for lunch or switching boats to bail them, but really we were all so wet and cold that it didn’t make a huge difference. It was still a ton of fun though. The place was really close to Ocean City too, so we drove over there and walked on the boardwalk and the beach. It was so carefree, it felt like summer again for a brief few hours. Then we had to come backand Sunday I had to go to a retreat for RSA to teach all of the newer students about their roles in RSA.
And now I’m stuck here again in my room doing school work, wishing that it was still the weekend…
